Outpatient therapy is a form of therapeutic treatment which is offered to people who do not need to be hospitalized. A number of types of therapy can be offered on an outpatient basis, including psychological therapy, physical therapy, and post-surgical care. Many patients like outpatient therapy because it allows them to receive necessary medical treatment while staying at home and avoiding hospital bills. It also allows the patient to live a relatively normal life, simply setting aside time to attend therapy sessions while working, spending time with family, and socializing with friends.
Outpatient services are available for families in which children/parents have been affected by abuse, or neglect, and/or the chronic or acute physical and mental illness, or substance abuse of those caring for them. Among the services provided by population specific programs are evaluation, assessment, treatment planning, individual, dyadic, family, and group psychotherapy, parent counseling.
The primary goal of treatment is to improve the fit between the child and the care-giving adults, or the adult and their family, prevent disruptions of parent/child relationships and assist the child and family to remain safely in the community. Services are provided by a staff of Licensed Mental Health Professionals (LMHP) and/or LMHP – Eligible staff under the close supervision of a LMHP. GYG specializes in:
